Help us Continue and Grow

The More You Help Us The More We Can Help Others

HOPE is a nonprofit that relies on donations from businesses, individuals and fundraisers for 75% of it's funding, the remainder coming from lessons. You may sponsor a student, sponsor a horse, make a monetary donation, have your employer match your monetary donation, donate a horse or allow one of your horses to be used in HOPE lessons, donate other goods and services or donate an item from our Amazon Wish List.

Sponsor A HOPE Student

HOPE does not receive Federal or State funding and must rely solely upon corporate and individual contributions, grants and the proceeds from fund-raising events to underwrite operational expenses. While a nominal tuition of $240.00 per 8-week session is charged to students (the actual cost is over $750 per session), 75% of our student population is unable to pay this fee. It is HOPE 's desire to make lessons available regardless of ability to pay. To that end we offer scholarships, beyond what we already subsidize, based on need.

Please help us by sponsoring one or more students. HOPE provides a donation tax receipt for your donation of sponsoring a student. Due to confidentiality HOPE is not able to provide you information on the student that your funds would help.

Sponsor a Horse

If you have horse experience and live near one of our facilities (Island County Fairgrounds and Plum Creek Lane in Coupeville), this sponsorship opportunity may be perfect for you! Take a look at our horse profiles to see if any need sponsors right now. In return for your tax deductible donations, you get to ride the horse whenever it is not being used for HOPE lessons or other events! Silent horse sponsorship opportunities are also available. Review our Horse Silent Sponsorship Guidelines (PDF). Our horse sponsorship agreement spells out the details.

Give Where Needed

HOPE greatly appreciates unrestricted gifts that may be used for any of our expenses. While grant makers often fund specific needs such as student scholarships and horse hauling costs, they rarely fund operating expenses. Please review examples of our administrative expenses and program expenses and consider making an unrestricted monetary donation. Remember, as is true with most other therapeutic riding centers, the fee of $30 per session only covers about 25% of the cost of providing therapeutic riding. The rest must be raised through grants, fundraising events and individual donations.

Matching Gifts

There are two ways that you can participate in matching gift programs through HOPE. One way is to share a horse sponsorship with someone who is not able to provide the full sponsorship for a HOPE horse. Another way is to ask if your employer will match any monetary donation you give to HOPE. If your employer does have a corporate matching program but HOPE is not yet on its lists of approved organizations, please let us know and we will contact that employer to see what we can do to get HOPE approved.
